Hop the Gap
Helping kids be active, healthy and safe in the summer
Launched on Healthy Kids Day (April 25, 2015), Hop the Gap is a summer campaign designed to inform the public about how the Y is Helping Kids Achieve More as well as addressing the gaps of hunger, safe spaces, water safety, health and learning that can occur when kids are out of school for the summer holiday.
The initiative is built around the metaphor of the hopscotch board, set up as activations at the Y’s 2,700 locations nationwide, as a way the Y helps kids and families ‘hop’ over the complex issues they face during these months through activity and play.
The ad campaign includes: a responsive website that outlines the myriad ways the Y’s programs can help tackle these challenges, resources for parents to and schools to get involved, video & radio PSAs, digital banners, social media, and localized print materials – all outlining in a fun and engaging way how the Y really is So Much More!
